Guide 6/10

Publishing and sharing

Others see the tournament only after you publish it. Even after publishing you decide separately when the groups, matches and referees become visible.

Pages: Overview · Basics · Public page · Roles & links

Publish the tournament

  1. Open Overview and the Publish readiness card.
  2. Fix what is missing. If red items remain, the service asks once more before publishing.
  3. Look at the page with Preview the public page and press Publish tournament.

A published tournament is shown in the tournament calendar, and its public page can be shared. From the same card you can return the tournament to a draft (Set to draft).

If the card says the club account is waiting for activation, you can still prepare the tournament. Publishing becomes available once Turnauspolku has opened the club's account.

What the public page shows

In the Publishing section of the Basics page you choose what the page shows:

  • Show registered teams: the list of confirmed teams.
  • Groups published: the group draw and standings.
  • Matches published: the match schedule and results.
  • Referees published: referees on the match cards.

When matches are published for the first time, confirmed teams get the match schedule by email. Before you save, the page tells how many teams will get the message. If you hide the schedule and publish it again, the message is sent again.

Page content and look

The introduction, rules, registration instructions and contact details are written on the Basics page. News, frequently asked questions, arrival instructions, sponsors and photos and videos are added under Public page in the menu. Under Look and brand on the same page you can give the tournament its own main colour, logo and banner image; an empty field uses the club's look (Communication & branding section of the club page).

Links for each role

The Roles & links page has a link and a ready-made instruction text for every role:

  • Public page: for anyone. Nothing can be changed with it.
  • Referee's link: personal, only for that referee.
  • Team management link: personal, only for the team's contact person. It is also sent in the registration confirmation.

Send a role package makes a ready email draft for a chosen group, for example referees or team managers.

Changes on the tournament day

Urgent notices, such as a rain delay or a venue change, are published as a banner at the top of the public page. The banner is made in the Banner and event type section of the Basics page (Emergency/change banner on the public page).
