Guide 7/10
Referees
A referee needs no account and no app. Every referee has a personal link that shows their own matches and where they record results.
Pages: Referees · Roles & links
Add referees
Add referees on the Referees page under Add referees: one referee per line, with the email after the name separated by a semicolon or comma. Referees are saved to the club's referee list and are available in later tournaments too. Email is needed for confirmation requests and message notifications.
If Referees is not in the menu, choose Show all tools at the end of the menu.
Assign referees to matches
The table on the Referees page lists all matches of the tournament. Choose a referee per match, or select several rows and press Assign to selected. You can filter by day, venue or division, or show only matches without a referee.
A warning sign shows if a referee has too many matches in a row or too short a transfer. The same referee cannot be assigned to two matches at the same time.
Send the links
You find each referee's link in the referee list on the Referees page. Send it only to that referee. Send a role package on the Roles & links page makes a ready message for referees.
The referee's page shows the next match, a venue map, the playing times of the divisions, the tournament rules and the instructions you wrote for referees.
Referee coordinator and confirmations
Fill in the Referee coordinator card on the Referees page: name, phone, email and Instructions for referees. The contact details are shown on the referee's page and in the match recording view.
The referee gets an email an hour before the match and answers I'm coming or I can't make it on their own page. The referee coordinator gets an email at once if the referee cannot come, and once if there is no answer 30 minutes before kick-off. The Referee confirmations card shows the next two hours. Confirmation requests are on by default; turn them off with Send referees a confirmation request an hour before the match.
Recording a match
- The referee opens their link and presses Record the match on the match.
- Start starts the clock, Pause stops it and End match ends the match.
- Goals are recorded with the teams' goal buttons.
- After the match the referee can send notes to the referee coordinator under Feedback about this match.
If the clock is started by mistake, Reset clock resets it. Recorded events are kept.
Alarm and phone timer
The clock sounds an alarm when the playing time is up: at the division's playing time if it is set, otherwise at the match duration. The referee must press Enable sound and vibration before the first match.
The alarm only works while the page is open and the screen is on, and iPhones do not vibrate. That is why the page advises backing up the time with the phone's own timer: on an iPhone use the Open the iPhone timer button on the page, and on Android you can say “Hey Google, set a timer for 20 minutes”.
Messages with referees
A referee can write to you from their own page. Messages are shown under Messages from referees on the Referees page, and your reply appears on the referee's page. To send the same message to everyone, use Message to all referees.
